In an attempt to address this issue, Selena and Yolanda met in a hotel room. As Selena was about to report Yolanda to the police, a tragic turn of events unfolded. Yolanda pulled out a gun from her purse and shot Selena. In an attempt to escape, Selena ran through the hotel lobby, leaving a trail of blood for approximately 392 feet. Despite being rushed to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital and undergoing a 50-minute surgery, Selena did not survive, and efforts to revive her proved unsuccessful.
